Let's start at the very beginning...
first paid gig at age 4 singing for Grandma Hofman
2nd paid gig in the bay window of our home at age 5, performing a live show for our neighborhood friends for $.05 each
piano lessons start at age 7, and until age 16
dance lessons at age 8
flute lessons begin at age 10
The School Years
1976 Troy High School All-Around Musician Award. High school is filled with choir, band and orchestra with an amazing senior musical experience where I am Maria in the Sound of Music, and my twin Lisa plays Liesl, the oldest daughter.
1976 - 1980 Miami University majoring in Music Theory/Composition, playing principal flute for three years in orchestra, picc in marching band, singing in Collegiate Choral. Flute lessons with Sandra Seefeld, a most wonderful teacher.
1980 Miami University Concerto Competition winner on Flute
1980 National Flute Association Masterclass Competition winner, travel to Boston and work with Louis Moyse.
Honing my Skills
1980 Travel to Vermont and spend a week in a masterclass with Marcel Moyse, the french Master Flutist, then nearly 100 years old.
1981 Concert with Betty White and Ingrid Frederickson, both excellent string players in the Seattle Music scene.

1993 - 1997 "Jubilee" a cappella quartet with Troy Dolendo, Marco Cassone, and Lisa Allison
1994 Identical Harmony, a singer-songwriter duo with my twin sister Lisa Allison is formed
1999 Completion of 3-year Pacific Northwest Film School program

I currently teach flute and piano lessons Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday afternoons.
Performances
With over 80 shows this year and nearly every weekend, my twin Lisa Allison and I program and present shows for families and children 8 and under. Let Your Music Shine with Lisa & Linda's mission is to "inspire the unlimited potential of every child through music" through engaging originals, classic miniatures and every minute filled with move-along, sing-along fun. Learning
What would a musical life be without learning a new instrument! I am currently learning ukelele, thanks to my friend Kristy who is getting married at the top of a mountain and needed a little music. Fortunately, my sister Jan is a fantastic Uke player (and guitar, singer, songwriter too) so I have a trusted teacher.
